About Us

Western Iowa Development Association (WIDA) was established in 1987. Our mission is to provide leadership to community members by developing and implementing a proactive marketing plan that will promote economic development and expand and grow the area’s economic base while increasing wealth and improving quality of life. Investors in the organization include area communities and Pottawattamie County. We work closely with our regional and state partners to achieve our mission including the Greater Council Bluffs Regional Economic Development Partnership, Iowa Western Community College, utilities serving the area and the Iowa Department of Economic Development.

WIDA is your first stop to exploring business investment opportunities in Pottawattamie County. We provide services to help our existing businesses grow and expand, to new businesses exploring location opportunities in the area and to entrepreneurs starting-up new business ventures.
